Conor McGregor’s eagerly-awaited film debut is set for March 21st, 2024.
The former UFC two-division champion makes his acting bow alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in a remake of the 1989 cult classic film, Road House – which originally starred Patrick Swayze.
The reboot will air exclusively on Amazon Prime Video from 21st March and ‘The Notorious’ recently took to X to tease a first look at the flick.
The Irish MMA star shared images of himself and Gyllenhaal from the movie set while declaring: “I hate to have to mess up that pretty face for you all”.
“ROADHOUSE” official trailer out tomorrow,” McGregor added.
“Director Doug Liman’s ‘greatest movie yet!’ Honored to debut alongside such a stellar cast and crew! Thank you all! Here we go.”
The film is an adrenaline-fuelled re-imagining of the 80s classic which saw Swayze play a bouncer at a roadside bar in a small Missouri town.
The 2024 version sees ex-UFC fighter Elwood Dalton [Gyllenhaal] take a job as a bouncer at a Florida Keys roadhouse, only to discover that the paradise is not all it seems.
McGregor reportedly serves as Dalton’s nemesis ‘Knox’ in the movie.
During an interview in March 2023, McGregor described the movie-making process as “very tough”.

“‘l’ll tell you what I enjoyed the most,” he said.
“The fact that now everything else seems easy. Because 15-hour days on set, memorising lines. You’re memorising the lines and practising before you even go on set, so it’s a lot of hard work.”
He added: “And I was doing my own stunts. But leaving it, doing this show, going to training camp, preparing for fights, shooting content for all these companies, everything seems so much easier.”
A ripped Gyllenhaal sent shockwaves around the MMA world at UFC 285 in March last year when he stepped inside the Octagon to film scenes for the film.
Footage even captured him securing a highlight-reel flying knee ‘knockout’ in his fictional middleweight title bout against champ Jax Harris, played by former mixed martial artist and UFC fighter, Jay Hieron.
As for McGregor, he’s not fought in the UFC since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in their trilogy bout in July 2021.
The former featherweight and lightweight king left the USADA testing pool to heal before reportedly signing on for a comeback fight with Michael Chandler.
The pair filmed a series of The Ultimate Fighter together but the fight has been stuck in limbo with conflicting reports about what weight class it will take place at.
The bout with Chandler was set to take place on Saturday, June 29 in Las Vegas, but over the weekend at UFC 297, UFC CEO Dana White said that McGregor’s return still wasn’t yet finalised.
“If and when Conor is ready to fight, you know we’ll announce it,” White said.
