Known for his unreserved approach to dissing fellow artists, The Game has surprisingly disclosed that his recent jabs at Eminem had a deeper motive.

During an interview with DJ Vlad, The Game acknowledged that his targeting of Eminem in the song “The Black Slim Shady” was a result of his discontent with Dr. Dre.

Admitting his feelings, The Game stated, “Throwing shots at Eminem and beefing with Eminem, it was just me being upset with Dr. Dre. Dr. Dre can’t out-rap me, so I just went at Em, just because that’s just how I get sometimes.”

However, he clarified that the competitive spirit remains, emphasizing that he wouldn’t confront Eminem aggressively in person. The Game acknowledged Eminem’s ability and even noted, “It’s Em, you know what I’m saying? And Em took his shots on a record that dropped, and yo, Em is a funny guy.”

The rapper has previously discussed his grievances with Dr. Dre. In a 2022 interview on Drink Champs, following the release of his single “Eazy,” he expressed that Kanye West had done more for him in the last two weeks than Dr. Dre did throughout his entire career. Despite later qualifying the statement, he did not retract it.

It’s worth noting that The Game’s diss track “Black Slim Shady” aimed at Eminem was allegedly ghostwritten by Stat Quo, as suggested by D12’s Bizarre in a previous revelation.

Furthermore, The Game revealed feeling “hurt” by not being invited to participate in the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show, headlined by Dr. Dre and featuring Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige, along with special guests 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak.

On the I Am Athlete podcast, he expressed his sentiments, stating, “The real reason I wasn’t on the Super Bowl is because I’m not a ‘safe’ artist. You don’t know what Game gon’ do when he get up there. They went with the ‘safe’ artists.”

He continued by attributing the decision to the dynamics of West Coast Hip Hop, indicating that JAY-Z, despite his involvement with the NFL for the show, would likely have approved if Dr. Dre had chosen to include The Game in the Super Bowl lineup.
