Blue Ivy, Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s daughter, has been praised by her grandfather Matthew Knowles in a sweet message
JAY-Z and Beyoncé‘s daughter Blue Ivy has a proud grandpa in Mathew Knowles, and he wants to make sure the world knows just how much he adores her.
In an Instagram post with a photo of the 12-year-old on Tuesday (March 12), Grandpa Knowles shared some kind words of praise and encouragement for his daughter’s first-born baby.
“I remember coming back stage in London to the Renaissance concert and asking about you,” he began. “Beyoncé replied ‘she is there rehearsing’ and then I understood why because one of your friends had commented negatively about your first performance on the tour. In that moment I was so proud that you wanted to put in the work to get better.“I want to take a moment to appreciate the amazing determination and willingness to learn that you displayed. Your excitement for life and your eagerness to soak up knowledge and new experiences is truly inspiring. You have already shown the world that you are a force to be reckoned with, and I have no doubt that one day you will continue to astound us all.”
He continued: “It’s clear that you have an extraordinary Knowles spirit, and I am confident that you will find your true passion in life,” he added, before continuing on to encourage Blue to chase her dreams.
In 2023, the then-11-year-old Blue Ivy’s dancing was publicly criticized by news outlets and fans early on in the Renaissance Tour.
And in the Renaissance Tour concert film, there are moments between Beyoncé and her daughter discussing the criticism. Bey was equally as proud that instead of quitting, Blue wanted to put the work in and go even harder for the remainder of the tour.
Blue Ivy made her first on-stage appearance last May while her mom was performing in Paris. She made a cameo during a rendition of “My Power” and performed the choreography alongside Beyoncé’s regular backing dancers.
Since the debut performance, Blue Ivy continued to make cameos throughout her mother’s record-breaking tour and became a fan-favorite night after night.
Previously, she’d performed with her mom during the 2022 Oscars where Bey performed her nominated song “Be Alive” from a Compton tennis court. Blue was not as prominent during this performance as she was part of the group of backing performers all dressed in tennis ball green.
“Be Alive” failed to win Best Original Song” at the Oscars as Billie Eilish won for her Bond theme “No Time to Die” for the action film of the same name that doubled as Daniel Craig’s farewell to 007.
