Kylian Mbappe will be hoping to deliver a knockout blow to the opposition at the World Cup, and the France forward was delighted to meet boxing legend Mike Tyson ahead of the tournament.

France are currently fine-tuning their preparations for this summer’s showpiece event in Russia, but Mbappe still had time to meet one of the greatest boxers of all time in Tyson.

The pair posed for a picture at the French Open, with Mbappe pleased to see such an iconic sportsman.

Both Mbappe and Tyson were in attendance at the French Open as they watched Sloane Stephens take on Anett Kontaveit.

Mbappe will aim to enhance his own profile further still this summer as France look to go all the way at the World Cup.

Since making his senior international debut last year, Mbappe has so far mustered three goals in 13 appearances for his country.

 

The Paris Saint-Germain starlet, who is effective whether deployed as a winger or a striker, provided an assist for Samuel Umtiti in France’s 3-1 victory over Italy in a friendly on Friday.

France have one further friendly, against the United States on Saturday, before the tournament gets underway.

Didier Deschamps’ side will be determined to win the World Cup for the first time in 20 years and take on Australia, Peru and Denmark in their group.

Mbappe goes into the tournament having scored 21 goals and provided 16 assists in his 44 appearances for PSG during his first season at the club.

In addition to Mbappe, France possess several other impressive attacking options, including Antoine Griezmann, Ousmane Dembele and Olivier Giroud.
