While Swiatek downplays her status as the queen of the women’s game, tennis legend Martina Navratilova believes she will continue to be a force to reckon with, especially on slow courts like those at the Miami Open.

As Swiatek eyes the Miami Open title following her recent triumph at Indian Wells, she faces world No. 31 Linda Noskova of the Czech Republic in the upcoming third round, further solidifying her position as a favorite in the tournament.

“Iga might not be the quickest player out there but she’s the most complete player out there and it really shows up on slow courts like this,” said nine-time Wimbledon champion Navratilova on Sky Sports Tennis.

“She is a fantastic player and is the best front-runner we have had in the game since Serena Williams.

“Also, she can get better. Her serve can improve so watch out.”
