Recently, Selena Gomez participated in a roundtable discussion of The Hollywood Reporter with many other actresses.

During the conversation, Amy Schumer mentioned the former Disney “princess” being sexualized. The 41-year-old comedian expressed: “Someone like Selena has been sexualized since she was very young, but you rejected that and really found your own style and direction.”

She believes that the 9X female singer is forced to grow up according to a pre-arranged system where sexual and gender factors are included. “I know they put you through a system and make you feel like this is the way you’re supposed to do it,” Amy added.

Referring to this issue, Selena Gomez replied: “It’s really unfair. I took a nude photo for the album cover and I was really embarrassed after doing it.” The female singer – actress immediately reminded fans of her album cover Revival (2015).

“I had to try to overcome those feelings because I realized they were related to something deeper than what was going on at that time,” the Lose You to Love Me singer said. She continued: “It was a choice and I’m not really happy about making it but I think I did my best, at least I tried to be myself.” Selena Gomez confided: “I’m not a very sexy person. Sometimes I like to be sexy, but that doesn’t mean I want others to see that sexiness, maybe it’s just for me.”

The owner of the hit Same Old Love shared that he began to take control of his life when he realized he was gradually getting older. “I now understand that I need to set certain boundaries for myself,” she confided to The Hollywood Reporter. I respect and love everyone but I need to be what’s best for me.”

Recently, Selena Gomez has been busy with new projects. She stars in part 2 of the Only Murders in the Building series, scheduled to premiere later this month. A while ago, the beauty also mentioned that she was preparing for a new album and opened up about going on a tour.
