“Do they test them for testosterone replacement?” Joe Rogan reacts to 39-year-old LeBron James being accused of steroid use

Joe Rogan reacts to Los Angeles Lakers’ superstar LeBron James’ fitness at age 39 amid claims of use of steroids

When playing in your 21st season in the NBA, fitness is often an afterthought. But for 39-year-old LeBron James, it is everything; which is why questions surrounding his ability to stay in shape have come from various directions.

Joe Rogan reacted to accusations by MMA legend Chael Sonnen, about the Los Angeles Lakers superstar’s apparent use of steroids. Comedian Joey Diaz picked up on how fascinating it was to watch LeBron James maintain his physical fitness for so long.

Lebron, he looks awesome. Recuperation at that age, gotta be really smart.

Joey Diaz said on JRE

You see Chael Sonnen ranting and screaming. 'He's on steroids, everyone knows he's on steroids'. Do they test NBA players? Do they test them for testosterone replacement?

Joe Rogan responded

Joe Rogan’s reaction was based on how unbelievable it is to watch James play at this level at this age. While many players wither away into retirement, James has been able to keep his fitness intact and still be the best player in the league.

Chael Sonnen claimed that the Los Angeles Lakers superstar uses steroids which he gets from the same drug dealer as his. The truth in those claims is yet to be confirmed, however, Rogan used Sonnen’s claims to talk about how James’ fitness. Their questions come from historical data, which suggests that most NBA players generally slowed down in their mid to late 30s.

No player in their 21st season have averaged more than 7.4 points a game. The Akron native is averaging more than three and a half times that number, while playing the 4th most minutes per game. It is unreal how LeBron stays in shape.

LeBron James spends time and money on fitness

Since he entered the NBA, LeBron James has focused on his fitness. Folklore around the league suggests that he avoids parties and eating the wrong things. Reports suggest James spends a lot of money on nutrition, trainers, massages and practice to keep himself in top shape.

The most important factor Joe Rogan and Joey Diaz talked about is his recovery after games. For any athlete, recovery plays a vital role as they grow older. Muscles and bones need to recover as soon as possible to be able to be at their best in the next game. LeBron James invests a lot into his recovery, spending a lot of money on cryotherapy and other methods to aid in his recovery.

His dedication to becoming the best in his profession has seen him go the extra mile. But it still does not explain what a freak of nature, or gifted as an athlete, the father of three is. And until he retires, such talks will continue.
