The Warriors analyst believes there’s nothing optimistic about the Dubs anymore.

The Golden State Warriors played a huge gamble this offseason by trading young Jordan Poole, acquiring Chris Paul, and re-signing Draymond Green, signaling their reliance on veteran leadership for another championship run.

However, their lackluster performance in the 2023-24 season, including a subpar below .500 record at home, has raised concerns among fans about their dynasty’s future. While suggesting that Dub followers are growing pessimistic about it, analyst – Monte Poole dropped a harsh reality on Stephen Curry & Co.

“There was talk early this season about, ‘Is the dynasty over? Is the dynasty over?’ I think the dynasty was over last year,” Poole said. “I thought they could still make a real strong postseason run if they pulled everything together, but it hasn’t happened and you’re seeing it. And Warriors fans, who felt so good a few weeks ago, now are like ‘Man, what are we gonna do?‘ There’s nothing to be optimistic about right now based on the way the team is playing.”

Curry wants the Warriors to be more consistent

Every team strives for a top 6 berth in their conference, and the Dubs were no exception in the Western Conference. However, a string of losses, including five in their last eight games, has pushed that aspiration further out of reach.

Moreover, after their home loss against Julius Randle-less New York Knicks, Curry spoke about the team’s challenges, urging them to be more consistent.

“Maybe a week or two ago, the 6th seed was the motivation,” Curry said. “Right now, I could care less about where you’re at. It’s just the consistency of how we’re playing. That’s the most important thing because, honestly, who cares what seed you are if you’re going to play like we did tonight? Six, seven, eight, nine, ten – whatever it is, it doesn’t matter. You’re not going to get very far.”

Warriors need all hands on deck

With just 13 games left for their regular season to conclude, the 2022 NBA Champs trail the 6th-seed Phoenix Suns by six wins. So, it’s safe to say that their pathway to the playoffs relies heavily on the play-in tournament.

However, after losing to the Indiana Pacers, the Warriors must proceed cautiously as they now hold just a 1.5-game lead over the 11th-seeded Houston Rockets. Their match against them on April 4th could also decide their fate.

Hence, Curry’s emphasis on consistency over chasing a higher seed should be heeded. If they continue to play in their current form, coach Steve Kerr’s team might risk slipping out of postseason contention altogether.
