The Golden State Warriors  survived a San Antonio Spurs with a bad record but a good present, who pushed them to the maximum until the very end of the game: a 117-113 victory for Steve Kerr’s team, with a pivotal third quarter in the process -37 to 21 for those from San Francisco.

The victory, added to Houston’s defeat in Dallas, allows the Warriors to take a 2-game lead in the fight with the Rockets, for tenth place in the West .

Stephen Curry led Golden State’s victory, with 33 points and 9 assists. Also, unusual offensive contribution from Draymond Green : 19 points, to go along with his 11 assists and 6 rebounds. For his part, Klay Thompson only added 13 points, but scored the key triple in the last minute, to put the victory on track.

In San Antonio there was another monstrous game from an increasingly comfortable and dominant Victor Wembanyama : 32 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals and 3 blocks for the Frenchman.

Full Time. The Spurs tightened the score in the closing stages, but a decisive three-pointer by Klay Thompson and a free kick by Draymond ensured the victory for the Warriors. 117 to 113 for Kerr’s team.

4th quarter, 6:14. The Warriors breathe hand in hand with Curry. Steph already has 7 points in the quarter and helps the visit take a lead of 104 to 92.

4th quarter, 9:24.  Monstrous definition from Wemby! 2+1 from the French, finishing over Jackson-Davis. The Spurs are coming. 94 to 88, Golden State.

End of the 3rd quarter. A pair of three-pointers from Graham seek to bring the Spurs closer, but Golden State maintains an 8-point lead: 89 to 81 heading into the final 12 minutes. 21 from Curry, 18 from Green.

3rd quarter, 5:15. The Warriors and a flurry of points in the third quarter, like in their best years. A triple by Curry gives them a double-digit lead: 80 to 69. San Antonio, without reaction in this stretch.

3rd quarter, 7:09. Great start for the Warriors, who take the lead 69 to 66, behind an unexpected scoring contribution from Draymond Green -16 points- plus a couple of touches from Curry -18 points-. Partial from 17 to 6.

End of the 2nd quarter. The Spurs dominated the first half from start to finish and went into halftime with a 60-52 lead. Osman leads San Antonio with 15 points, while Curry does the same for the Warriors, with 12 points.

2nd quarter, 3:28. Hot hand for Osman from the perimeter. There are already 15 points, with a 3-5 in triples for the Turk. San Antonio maintains the advantage: 55 to 48.

2nd quarter, 7:10. Wemby! The Frenchman’s flurry on both sides of the field, crowned with a triple off the dribble, raising the ball as if he were a point guard. The Spurs maintain the lead: 46 to 37. The Frenchman has 9 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks in 10 minutes.

End of the 1st quarter. Excellent first period for San Antonio, with efficiency from the triple -4 of 9- and an excellent performance by Zach Collins -8 points and 5 rebounds-. Malaki Branham also hurt with 8 points, against the Warriors who entered the game quite unfocused. 34 to 27 for the Texans.

1st quarter, 4:00. Zach Collins entered the game very well, with points in the paint and from the perimeter for the Spurs. San Antonio takes the lead 21 to 14.

1st quarter, 6:40. Wemby is beginning to leave its mark on defense, with 2 steals and 2 quick blocks, although the Warriors are accurate from the perimeter and add threes from Curry and Green. 14-12 for the visit.
