Former St. Clair High School, Missouri teacher Brianna Coppage, who resigned over her OnlyFans page, was fired from her new job at Compass Health after just five days

A teacher who resigned after her OnlyFans page was made public has been fired by a new job just days after she started.

Brianna Coppage, a former teacher at St. Clair High School in Missouri, has been terminated from her new position just days after starting. The 28-year-old made headlines when her side gig on adult content subscription service OnlyFans was discovered, forcing her to resign from her teaching role in October 2023.

The former educator admitted to earning a staggering $1 million through her OnlyFans platform, a stark contrast to her annual teaching salary of $42,000 (£33,000). However, not having a day job took a toll on her mental health. “Not having to get up and go to a 9-5 has been tough on my mental health,” she explained.

So Coppage then went on to seek a new job and was hired as a community support specialist at Compass Health Network. She said she provided accurate employment history and information during the application process, however, she was placed on leave just five days after she started, until her employment was ultimately terminated.

Coppage told First Alert 4: “I lasted five days before they put me on leave and subsequently fired me just this month. They admitted that they didn’t call my references or Google me before they hired me. They claim that I violated their social media policy but will not respond to me with how I violated it.”

Speaking previously on her online presence, Coppage had said that it was entirely unrelated to her teaching job and didn’t affect it. She told FOX: “I started it, one, to supplement my income, see what happens, and possibly make extra money. I have student loans. I was working on my third degree. I have a master’s degree in education and was also working on my special-ed degree.

“Teachers typically get further education because it moves us up on the salary schedule, so we can make more money if we have an advanced degree. So that was one of the motivations there. I’m going to accrue more student loan debt if I’m trying to get further education for my job. It was definitely not completely financially motivated, but it was a big factor.”

“Missouri is one of the lowest states in the nation for teacher pay. The district I was working for is also one of the lowest paying districts in the state. I feel like times are tough. I have student loans. I have multiple degrees in education, and it would be helpful for extra money.”

Since signing up to OnlyFans Coppage has earned enough money to pay off all her student loans and credit card debt. “Being a teacher, I know I never would have been able to fully pay all of that off,” she said. “A lot of people asking why didn’t you just get a part time job somewhere,” the former teacher added.

“That seems like that would’ve worked better but teachers also take all of their work home. We don’t get to stop working when we leave the school day. We don’t get to grade all 130 students’ papers during the day. It’s just not possible when you’re teaching, so we take that work home with us on the evenings and on the weekends. Getting a second job is really not possible.”

Coppage admitted regret over what happened, insisting that “students were never meant to see this”. She said: “I know people are saying you taught high school they were bound to find it at some point. Maybe. I was faceless. I did not use my real name.”
